The Cloquet Public Library hosts a free presentation by Chad Lewis which is an odd combination of bizarre paranormal topics spanning the entire spectrum of Minnesota paranormal activity.
Gala Roses and Pearls, 4 p.m., Memorial Community Hospital, Cloquet. The CMH will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its annual fundraising gala. Doors open at 4 p.m. for a social hour and silent auction. A dinner, live entertainment and auction will take place from 5-9 p.m. The cost to attend is $90 per person for those who register after September 30 or $95 per person for those who register online after that date.

Participants will learn how to identify, remove and replace buckthorn, which has detrimental effects on native trees, wildlife and landscapes.
